As we continue to expand, we are looking for a motivated and organised Trainee Project Coordinator to join our team and support the delivery of our solar installation projects.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to build a long‑term career in the renewable energy sector. You will learn how to coordinate solar installation projects from purchase order through to final commissioning, working closely with clients, suppliers, installers, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
Client Liaison & Communication
* Act as a point of contact for clients once a purchase order has been issued.
* Provide clear, timely updates throughout the installation process.
* Ensure clients understand timelines, requirements, and next steps.
* Assist in maintaining accurate records of all communications and project documentation.
Project Scheduling & Coordination
* Assist in planning and scheduling solar installation works.
* Coordinate with installation teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure labour and track progress.
* Monitor project milestones and escalate delays or risks promptly.
* Use project management and scheduling software to keep workflows organised.
Procurement & Materials Management
* Obtain quotes for solar components, mounting systems, electrical materials, and associated equipment.
* Raise purchase orders and ensure materials are delivered on time.
* Track material usage and maintain accurate cost records.
Compliance, Health & Safety
* Support the preparation of RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements).
* Ensure installations comply with MCS standards and relevant regulations.
* Coordinate with H&S teams to ensure safe working practices are followed.
* Maintain accurate compliance documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Technical & Software Exposure
* Use CRM and project management platforms to track project progress.
* Prepare simple layout drawings (training provided).
* Assist with documentation required for DNO applications and commissioning.
Installation Support
* Ensure installation teams have all required documentation, drawings, and equipment details.
* Coordinate logistics and resolve queries from installers or suppliers.
* Liaise with scaffolding providers, DNOs, and other third parties.
Project Completion & Handover
* Prepare end‑of‑installation documentation, including commissioning reports, warranties, and handover packs.
* Ensure clients receive all required documentation promptly.
* Support internal reporting and project close‑out processes.
Recommended Previous Experience
To help ensure success in this role, experience in the following areas is beneficial:
1. Administration or Coordination Background
* Project administration
* Office administration
* Scheduling or planning roles
* Operations support
* Customer service coordination
2. Experience in Construction, Electrical, or Technical Environments
* Working with contractors or trades
* Exposure to site‑based work or RAMS
* Facilities management
* Supporting engineers, surveyors, or installers
3. Experience in Renewable Energy (Advantageous)
* Solar PV, battery storage, EV charging
* Heat pumps or low‑carbon technologies
* Energy efficiency or sustainability roles

* A genuine interest in renewable energy and the solar industry.
* Previous experience in renewables or solar is advantageous but not essential.
