Join to apply for the Class Teacher role at Perth & Kinross Council.
We are looking for a positive and reflective teacher who can support children with a range of additional support needs, including autism, social and communication adaptations, and physical and sensory profiles. You will work closely with the Intensive Support Provision (ISP) team, Senior Leadership Team, families, and partners to promote inclusion and improve outcomes for our children through individual planning and target setting.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality teaching within the Intensive Support Provision (ISP) for 2 days (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and cover sessions in RCCT within ISP and the mainstream school on Fridays.
* Plan to improve outcomes for children through individual planning and target setting.
* Collaborate with ISP staff, the Senior Leadership Team, families, and partners to promote inclusion.
* Create an inclusive learning environment using visual supports, sensory learning activities, and communication-friendly strategies including promoting the use of Makaton.
* Uphold confidentiality and support learners and families with sensitivity; work effectively within a team and on own initiative.
* Support children with additional needs and adapt approaches to meet diverse needs.

* Positive and creative approach to curriculum planning and an inclusive environment.
* Experience supporting children with a range of additional support needs, including autism and communication needs.
* Ability to work collaboratively and independently; strong communication skills; positive approach to working with children.
* Confidentiality and sensitive handling of information; ability to work as part of a team and with families.
