This role will play a critical part in driving forward an ambitious service improvement agenda, ensuring the delivery of world-class care to our patients.This is a 12-month maternity cover role, available as a fixed-term contract or secondment. The Service Manager will be a key figure in the directorates' leadership team, responsible for the operational and performance management of services provided at The Royal London Hospital. You will contribute to achieving NHS constitutional standards, support the elective recovery programme, and lead service improvements that enhance both patient and staff experiences.This role offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and development, with real autonomy and responsibility, all within a supportive and dynamic clinical and managerial leadership team.If you are an aspiring leader with experience in healthcare management, a proven track record in service improvement, and a passion for patient care, we would love to hear from you.Main duties of the jobThe Service Manager is a key management role and is responsible for the operational delivery of all aspects of the service areas.
The key aims are to:- Provide timely, efficient and effective operational service management support for Major Trauma and Plastic Surgery services, assisting the General Manager and Service Management Team to ensure that these services are responsive, innovative, and provided to the highest possible clinical and performance standards.- Drive forward agreed projects to improve service delivery and patient experience in key areas.- Lead the achievement of performance and quality targets.- Problem-solve as appropriate and develop and implement sustainable solutions in conjunction with clinical colleagues.- Be a key member of the Service Management Team, taking full responsibility for actions and ensuring other team members are kept fully informed at all times.Working for our organisationBarts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain’s leading healthcare providers.
