About the Role
As Assistant Procurement Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Senior Procurement Manager in the delivery of goods, services, and works contracts. You’ll help manage tenders, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulations. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver value and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the procurement and management of contracts across various categories.
* Assist in developing procurement documentation including ITTs, contracts, and notices.
* Evaluate tender proposals and identify the most economically advantageous options.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure specifications are fit for purpose and deliver optimal value.
* Contribute to supplier negotiations and post-contract reviews.
* Ensure compliance with statutory and company procurement policies.
What We’re Looking For
* A Levels or equivalent qualification.
* Experience in procurement or commercial roles.
* Strong understanding of competitive tendering and contract negotiation.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Knowledge of relevant procurement legislation (e.g. Utilities Contracts Regulations, Procurement Act) is desirable.
* CIPS qualification or willingness to study towards it.
