About the role:
MSI-DS are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Health & Safety Coordinator to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our health and safety management systems. This role ensures compliance with UK legislation, promotes safe working practices, and helps maintain a positive safety culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Health & Safety Compliance
* Assist in maintaining compliance with UK health and safety legislation and other relevant regulations.
* Support the development and review of the organisation’s H&S policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
Risk Management & Reporting
* Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and safety walkarounds to identify potential hazards.
* Support accident and incident investigations, ensuring root‑cause analysis and corrective actions are completed.
* Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, training and compliance activities.
Training & Awareness
* Providing H&S guidance, delivering training to staff, and communicating safety procedures.
* Promote a strong safety culture by raising awareness of safe working practices.
Documentation
* Develop and maintain H&S documentation and databases, ensuring all information is kept up to date.
* Assist in preparing reports, performance metrics, and safety briefings for management.
Emergency Preparedness
* Support the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
* Participate in drills and ensure relevant staff understand emergency processes.
About you:
Qualifications/ education
* IOSH Managing Safely
* NEBOSH National General Certificate (desirable but not essential)
* Auditor Qualification
Technical skills/ experience
* Proven experience in a health and safety role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
* Working knowledge and understanding of H&S Management Systems
* Working knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation and best practises.
* Ability to conduct thorough investigations and deliver detailed reports, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
* Computer literate with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and ERP system (ideally IFS)
