Overview
We are looking for a dedicated researcher to join us on an international collaboration developing correlative soft X-ray tomography (SXT) applications for medical diagnostic purposes. In addition to soft X-ray tomography and correlative imaging using fluorescence and EM imaging you will be carrying out cell and tissue culture, in vitro infection studies, complementary imaging techniques, plunge-freezing and development of a novel biopsy-to-imaging pipeline. You will also be involved in the development and prototyping of new micro-biopsy tools for cryogenic imaging and volume analysis of tissue at near-physiological states.
Responsibilities
* Carry out cell and tissue culture, in vitro infection studies, and complementary imaging techniques.
* Develop and implement plunge-freezing methods and a novel biopsy-to-imaging pipeline.
* Develop and prototype new micro-biopsy tools for cryogenic imaging and volume analysis of tissue at near-physiological states.
* Work with soft X-ray tomography and correlative imaging using fluorescence and EM imaging.
* Develop cell assays, advanced microscopy techniques, sample holders for cryogenic imaging, image processing and volume data analysis.
Qualifications
* PhD in a relevant subject area.
* Enthusiastic about developing new technology.
* Experience with multi-disciplinary and multi-national research activities and effective collaborative skills.
* Ability to manage your own time and resources and communicate with colleagues and collaborators at multiple institutes.
