Mental Health Youth Support Worker Durham | Full Time £440–£500 per week (depending on experience and/or qualifications) February 2026 Start – Long Term Role The School and Role We are recruiting a compassionate and committed Mental Health Youth Support Worker to join a Good-rated SEND school in Durham from February 2026. This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. You will be supporting students of all ages with a range of additional needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism (ASC). All pupils are supported with an EHCP, and class sizes are small, allowing you to build strong, trusting relationships and provide consistent, personalised support. Many students have experienced barriers to learning or previous disengagement from education. The school’s ethos focuses on understanding behaviour, building emotional regulation, promoting independence, and developing positive social skills, helping pupils feel safe, supported, and ready to progress. You will work within a structured, nurturing environment alongside an experienced and supportive team that places strong value on collaboration and staff wellbeing.
