The role is primarily based on the delivery of CDM Services and the Principal Designer role, with experience in delivering additional associated Health & Safety Services viewed as an advantage. You will cover a range of sectors including property, industrial and education. The position is based in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen Offices.
Responsibilities
* Providing Health & Safety Services on independent commissions and to complement wider project delivery services.
* Production of pre-construction information, files and other CDM documents.
* Ensuring Designer compliance.
* Reviewing contractors documentation.
* Interfacing with clients and design teams on a project basis.
* Advising clients on procurement options and consultant appointment issues.
* Proactively developing the Services within the Region.
* Keeping updated with current legal developments in respect of construction and related law.
What You Can Bring
We require a consultant with suitable and relevant experience, ideally from a design or construction background.
Technical
* Professional qualification in Design or Construction.
* NEBOSH qualified (minimum Construction Certificate).
* Preferable member of APS / IOSH.
* Experience in a similar role.
* Good IT skills and working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Knowledge and understanding of the component parts of CDM2015 and other Health & Safety issues.
* Working knowledge of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
* HS Training capability may be an advantage.

* Client-facing skills with experience of working with clients at strategic/operational levels.
* Strong planning and organising skills, able to prioritise workload and deadlines and manage change.
* Effective problem resolution skills; solution-oriented and able to manage problems and complaints.
* Teamwork skills with the ability to work with others to achieve targets.
