Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager to support the smooth operation of our well established takeaway. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for excellent customer service, and a solid background in food preparation and restaurant management. Duties
* Assist the Takeaway Manager in overseeing daily operations to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction
* Supervise and motivate staff members, including servers and kitchen personnel, fostering a positive working environment
* Support food preparation activities, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and comply with food safety regulations
* Handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints promptly to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction
* Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and dining areas in accordance with health and safety standards
* Assist in training new staff members on service procedures, food safety protocols, and operational policies
* Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to minimise waste and control costs
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a takeaway or restaurant setting, ideally with a background in food preparation or culinary arts
* Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices within the hospitality industry
* Experience in serving customers efficiently while upselling menu items to maximise sales opportunities
* Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
* Basic maths skills for handling transactions, stock counts, and cash register operations
* Previous kitchen experience or culinary training is desirable but not essential
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team and provide exceptional customer service
