We have opportunities for a Printer to join our Reflex Label site in Boston.
Roles and Responsibilities
This role reports directly to the Production Manager and is an integral part of the Printer team. As a printer, you will operate UV flexographic printing presses, including various Mark Andy P Series machines. You will review client requests to understand the scope and parameters of print jobs, determine quantities required, and match colours according to job specifications.
Your tasks will typically require training, which may include on-the-job training, off-site courses, or alternative training programs.
* Ensure all printing tasks meet high standards and maintain quality.
* Operate and maintain production speeds, setting times to targets, and report issues where standards are not met.
* Work towards production improvements, eliminate potential quality problems, and reduce downtime.
* Liaise with the production manager to optimize machine utilization, minimize wastage, and meet delivery deadlines.
* Support team collaboration and share information effectively.
* Follow all Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures, maintaining accurate records.
* Maintain safe working systems to ensure personnel safety and operational efficiency.
Promote collaborative working within the Print Department through effective communication.
Tasks
* Understand and adhere to the company handbook.
* Complete online health and safety awareness training.
* Follow responsibilities related to health, safety, and fire safety policies.
* Load specified materials as instructed.
* Route material web path around turner bars and delaminate materials as required for printing on adhesive surfaces.
* Load and QC die strikes, plates, and print cylinders according to the print sequence.
* Select appropriate anilox rollers to achieve correct colours and ink densities.
* Apply print to materials in sequence, ensuring proper weight distribution on plates.
* Examine proofs, colour standards, and verify AVT PDFs to detect errors and assess impression clarity.
* Perform ongoing QC checks during print runs to maintain colour, quality, and die strike consistency.
* Clean anilox rolls and ink trays after completing runs.
* Ensure line clearance procedures are followed before starting subsequent jobs.
Skills
* Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
* Ability to operate or quickly learn to operate various printing machines and related software.
* Ability to follow instructions accurately.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Experience working within a team with effective communication skills.
* Proven experience as a Printer.
