The team…
The Enablement & Independence Service supports people with disabilities (learning disabilities, those with autism, physical disabilities, or mental health conditions) to be influential in their local communities through citizenship, employment, enterprise, and volunteering opportunities. About the role….
We are looking to recruit a Shared Lives Registered Manager to lead and expand our Care Quality Commission (CQC) "Good" rated Shared Lives Service. As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall development, management and operation of the Shared Lives service supporting vulnerable adults to live full and meaningful lives in accordance with service policies, procedures and guidelines.
To ensure the service operates in compliance with Care Quality Commission standards and regulations for Social Care provision.
Key duties include:
* Effectively and efficiently manage the day-to-day operation of the service. Ensuring full compliance with Gateshead Council's Thrive agenda, policies, procedures, provider services quality assurance system, Shared Lives Plus good practice guidance, and current legislation.
* Actively participate in the evaluation, development and continuous improvement of the service. Including the research of current best practice locally and nationally.
* Responsible for the recruitment of the Shared Lives Carers. Managing their selection, assessment, induction, and training.
* Be proactive in all aspects of assessing the suitability of the Shared Lives Carer's home in accordance with the Care Quality Commission regulations and requirements.
* Actively manage and monitor the service budget, to ensure that expenditure is effectively achieving service outcomes, in accordance with the services financial policy and procedures
It is essential that you possess a Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent have knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation and Care Quality Commission requirements, the ethos of Shared Lives, health and safety legislation and demonstrate positive and effective organisational and communication skills.
