This role is a Senior Leadership position for the EEAST Emergency Operation Centres (EOC) function, supporting the Clinical Team to ensure the delivery of high quality, effective and efficient clinical care to patients, clients, and carers.
The Deputy Clinical Manager will assist and deputise for the CSM in all aspects of senior leadership for the CAS team and will be responsible for day to day management of the CAS service.
This role is predominately Monday to Friday within working hours, with the expectation of occasional weekend and evening work. The post holder may be expected to take part in the EOC on call rota (following additional training).

Main duties of the job
This role supports the achievement of national indicators and performance standards, clinical outcomes and ensures compliance against other relevant national and local standards.
The post holder will be able to provide expert advice, support, and direction by being an expert resource for EOC clinicians, wherever possible within the context of evidence based and agreed care pathways, or clinical frameworks.
The post holder will have direct leadership responsibility for all remote Clinicians (Clinical Navigators and Clinical Validators). In association with the other Senior EOC Managers, develop a portfolio of special interests for EOC and become the senior point of contact for those interests.
Maintain a clinical/professional link into the Clinical Quality Directorate and in conjunction with Head of EOC/Senior EOC Managers, ensure continuous evaluation of clinical activities and clinical service development.
The role encompasses a strong clinical and professional leadership mandate including contributing to the development of the profession at a regional, and where appropriate, national level, working closely with EOC management to deliver excellent clinical care.
The role also requires the post holder to provide pre hospital care within the scope of a Registered Nurse or Paramedic, and to promote the highest level of clinical care through leading by example.
