Cibyn Veterinary Clinic, Caernarfon, Caernarfon, Wales Salary up to £65,000 DOE, Plus up to £5,000 relocation Allowance We are looking for a full or part time veterinary surgeon to join us at Cibyn Veterinary Clinic
The Practice Cibyn Veterinary Clinic is a purpose built, single site small animal practice. There are 7 first opinion vets who all undertake a good mix of consulting and operating with support and encouragement to pursue clinical interests. We have a Medicine certificate holder and vets working towards ECC certificates and Exotics certificates. We also have on-site Referral Ophthalmology with 2 certificate holding and AVP Ophthalmologists. Our nursing team consists of 9 qualified RVNs and there is a great support team of ACAs and receptionists.
The Rota Ideally 3-4 days per week (we can be flexible with hours for the right candidate) and an equal share in the out of hours rota. 3-5 days per week, 2 weeknights on call per 3 weeks, 1:4-part weekends (either Sat am consult + Sat on call or Sat am consulting + Sun on call)
Out of hours work is on an 'On call' basis, and we do not routinely cover any other practices OOH calls, so it is not too busy. You will finish at lunch time following an on-call shift and receive additional time off in lieu of OOH work. Out of hours work can be great for gaining experience and confidence with the more unusual cases and working independently. There is always an RVN on call as well.
The Area Caernarfon is a lovely walled town with a castle and is situated between the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia) and the wonderful beaches of Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula. This is a great area for people who enjoy the outdoors - our team are often found running over the mountains, swimming in the lakes and the sea (even in winter!) or enjoying a dog walk with friends on the beach.
We make sure everyone gets plenty of time off to enjoy our beautiful area. It is about 1.5 hours by road to Manchester or Liverpool and 30 minutes to Holyhead for ferries to Ireland.
About You We are open to experienced candidates or more recent graduates and can provide plenty of support for newer graduates through the GDP process and through the IVC graduate Academy. Cibyn has a great team ethos with everyone happy to support each other.
You are encouraged to follow through your own cases but there is plenty of support when you need it and we have daily ward rounds to discuss tricky cases, hand over any inpatients to the on-call vet and plan the day.
A can-do attitude and willingness to keep improving what we do are what we want!
