Contract: 5 weeks, starting 12/06/2025
Rate: PAYE: £12.59 per hour / Umbrella: £15.80 per hour

Are you a hardworking, reliable individual with a commitment to keeping our community clean and sustainable? We’re seeking three Recycling & Waste Operatives to join our team in Torfaen for a temporary 5-week role. Based at Panteg Way, New Inn, Pontypool, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to essential waste and recycling services in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
About the Role
As a Recycling & Waste Operative, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining high standards of waste management and recycling services. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Collecting and sorting recyclable materials and waste in accordance with established procedures.
2. Operating waste collection vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently (under supervision where required).
3. Ensuring collection routes are completed on time and to a high standard.
4. Assisting with the safe loading and unloading of waste and recycling materials.
5. Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards at collection sites and within the workplace.
6. Interacting courteously with the public, responding to basic queries where necessary.
7. Adhering to health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
8. Supporting the team in promoting recycling initiatives and environmental goals.
About You

11. Reliability and punctuality to meet scheduled collection routes.
12. A commitment to health and safety practices.
13. An understanding of recycling and waste management processes (desirable but not essential, as training will be provided).
14. The ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision.
15. Eligibility to work in the UK.
