Job Summary
Updown is an award winning Hotel & Restaurant set in a magical former farmstead with acres of beautiful garden and woodland situated just outside Deal, Kent.
As the company goes from strength to strength we are looking for an extremely talented Finance Manager to help build, shape and preserve the business.
The main responsibilities will be as following:
* Carry out day-to-day tasks such as bank reconciliations, invoice and statement inputting and reconciliation and supplier payments
* Complete weekly sales and labour reports
* Complete monthly payroll and PAYE returns
* Oversee monthly COS reports with stocktakes
* Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
* Produce monthly management accounts and cashflow forecasts
* Develop short- and long-term financial forecasts to support growth plans
* Monitor and control costs, identifying variances and trends
* You must have great communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of the wider management team
* Prepare and update annual sales projections and budgets
Requirements
* Qualified accountant
* Strong background in small to medium sized businesses, ideally owner-managed
* Experience in the hospitality sector
* Advanced Excel and financial software skills
* Hands-on, commercially focused, and highly organised
