An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Homeless & Housing Solutions Officer to join a busy local authority housing service on an interim basis. This role is ideal for a housing professional with strong legislative knowledge and a proactive approach to homelessness prevention.

The Role
You will deliver a high-quality, customer-focused homelessness and housing solutions service, with a strong emphasis on prevention and relief duties. Managing a diverse caseload, you will assess applications, make legally sound decisions, and secure suitable housing outcomes in line with statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage homelessness and housing options cases in line with Part VI & VII of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
* Carry out detailed assessments and reach robust, defensible decisions
* Prevent and relieve homelessness through sustainable housing solutions
* Arrange and manage temporary accommodation where required
* Produce clear, accurate and legally compliant written decisions and reports
* Work collaboratively with internal teams, partner agencies and private landlords
* Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with policies and legislation

About You
* Demonstrable experience within homelessness or housing options services
* In-depth knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation
* Confidence managing complex and emotive cases
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
