Teacher of BGE Mathematics - fixed term until 26/06/2026 — Leith Academy
Salary: £33,594 - £50,589 | Hours: 35 per week
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Teacher to join our thriving Mathematics team on a fixed-term basis for a maternity cover. The successful candidate will teach across the Broad General Education (BGE) phase, specifically delivering engaging and high-quality Maths lessons to pupils in S1 to S3. This post is suitable for interested Secondary Maths Teachers and Primary Teachers with experience of teaching Maths / Numeracy across BGE levels of CfE. You will be well supported by a collaborative and forward-thinking department committed to ensuring success in learning for all.

Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and high-quality Mathematics lessons to pupils in S1 to S3 (BGE).
* Teach across the Broad General Education (CfE) levels and contribute to the development of Mathematics within the BGE curriculum.
* Work as part of a collaborative Mathematics department committed to student achievement and progression.
* Integrate digital technologies into teaching practice, leveraging the 1:1 iPad programme to enhance learning outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
* Enthusiastic and skilled Teacher willing to join a supportive team.
* Experience teaching Mathematics / Numeracy across BGE levels of CfE; suitable for Secondary Maths Teachers and Primary Teachers with relevant Maths experience.
Other Information / Requirements
* Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
* This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
* Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outwith the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks.
