You will:
Utilise geospatial data analysis techniques, large datasets, and inference to extract details about transmission and distribution networks.
Develop and implement geospatial models and algorithms to support identifying and developing low and high-voltage demand and generation projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate geospatial data with other datasets to enhance decision-making processes.
Design and execute geospatial data visualisation solutions to communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders.
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in geospatial analysis and electric utilities to drive innovation within the organisation.
Requirements:
A degree or strong demonstrated proficiency and interest in Geography, Geomatics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in geospatial data analysis, with a focus on designing or analyzing distribution and transmission networks in the electric utilities sector.
In-depth knowledge of electric utility infrastructure, including distribution networks, transmission lines, substations, and related assets.
Proficient in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges in electric utility network design and optimisation.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in electric utility network design and optimisation, such as utility and commercial-scale distributed energy resources (DERs), smart grids, and grid modernisation initiatives.
Experience with geospatial data integration techniques, including the incorporation of asset data, environmental data, and demographic data into network analysis workflows.
Familiarity with geographic information system (GIS) databases, such as PostgresSQL PostGIS, and data management best practices for maintaining large-scale geospatial datasets.
Experience with geospatial data visualization tools, such as Tableau, for communicating complex network analysis results to stakeholders and vetting potential product enhancements.
