Your New Role:
As a HR Assistant, you'll play a key role in a small HR team supporting the Human Resources department by performing administrative duties, assisting with recruitment, employee relations, collating the payroll and maintaining HR records. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth and efficient HR operations while providing outstanding ‘people first’ focused support to employees and senior managers.

What You’ll be Doing:
* Assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, scheduling interviews and supporting managers holding interviews.
* Support with onboarding such as drafting induction plans for new starters and ensuring all new starter processes have been completed including requesting Disclosure and Barring Service checks.
* Provide an excellent ‘people first’ service to all stakeholders of the business.
* Assist with accurately collating the payroll data monthly in readiness for this to be provided to the Finance department and Accountants for processing.
* Maintain and update employee records in line with company policies and legal requirements including maintaining the HR system.
* Prepare HR related letters and documents such as change of terms and conditions letters, preparing offer letters and contracts of employment.
* Support in collating the monthly company newsletter.
* Provide administration support with employee engagement and employee benefits initiatives such as Employee of the Month and Friday Lunch.
* Support the HR Manager with HR projects and associated reports or administration required.
* Take meeting notes to support with Employee Relations matters where required.
* Support and coach line managers with lower-level Employee Relations matters such as probation review meetings and absence management processes.
* Ensure a high level of confidentiality and compliance in line with UK Employment Law and company policies and procedures is always maintained.
* Support with any other duties necessary with the level of responsibility of this role as needed.
What You’ll Bring:
* A people person who is a team player with a willingness to learn
* The successful candidate must be educated to at least A level (including Maths and English GCSE) and must have 1-3 years’ experience working within a HR department.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills.
* Strong attention to detail and comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
* Good professional written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of UK Employment Law and HR best practices.
* Level 3 CIPD qualified or equivalent worked experience.
* Experience using a HR System.
* Ability to work independently and use initiative whilst collaborating and working in a team environment.
Base Salary: £27,500 per annum dependent on experience
