Head Office is based in Blackburn, but this is a field-based role primarily covering the North of England with occasional UK travel depending on business needs.
About the role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven Junior Field Service Engineer to join our team and start building a skilled profession in the field. In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of technical systems and equipment at client and project sites. Working alongside experienced engineers, you’ll gain valuable on the job training, develop your technical skills, and build the foundation for a long-term career in engineering. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for technology, a practical mindset, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
Responsibilities
* Carry out routine maintenance and repair tasks to keep systems operating at peak performance.
* Diagnose technical issues and escalate more complex faults to senior engineers when required.
* Accurately document all service activities, site conditions, and technical findings.
* Follow all safety procedures and ensure full compliance with company and industry standards.
* Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles to a high standard.
* Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams, providing updates and gathering feedback.
* Identify and resolve routine maintenance issues while keeping detailed records of on-site equipment.
* Provide out‑of‑hours emergency support for P1 issues (site out of action), including rota‑based evening and mainly weekend cover.
* Prepare and stage equipment required for installation work.

Qualifications
* Basic understanding of industry‑relevant technical systems, along with familiarity with tools, diagnostic equipment, or field software.
* Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, paired with good communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Eagerness to learn, develop, and grow within a technical career path.
* A diploma or degree in IT or Engineering is desirable
* Must be 21 or over with a full UK driving licence to meet insurance requirements.
