KPA Electrical Ltd are a high-quality provider of electrical installation services, specialising in commercial electrical works. While our primary focus is on commercial installations, we cover a broad spectrum of electrical services, ranging from initial design stages through to commissioning and labour-only contracts. Our portfolio includes office fitouts (to Cat A & B), hospitals, schools, colleges, industrial warehouses, and high-end residential projects.
Our office is based in Rochester, however 95% of our projects are located within London. The role will involve a mix of office and on-site responsibilities.
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Electrical Contracts Manager to oversee a range of projects, valued between £50k and £1m. As the Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of project design, documentation and delivery, alongside site supervision; ensuring that all aspects are carried out to the highest standard.
The ideal candidate will be self-driven, with a strong attention to detail and at least three years of proven experience in contract management within the electrical industry. You will lead a team, manage budgets, assist with forecasting to maximise potentials and growth, and ensure timely project delivery while maintaining excellent relationships with clients, colleagues, contractors, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers to maximise future opportunities
* Take full responsibility for the delivery of multiple electrical projects, from award to handover, ensuring compliance with all design, documentation, and KPA quality standards
* Implement and maintain high standards of health and safety, including preparing and updating RAMS, and ensuring site teams complete necessary paperwork
* Price variations, manage tenders, and deliver projects within budget
* Plan and direct site tasks, ensuring all necessary documentation, plant, access equipment, and materials are in place
* Ensure QA processes are followed and that all work is completed to the highest standard
* Oversee material procurement and negotiating costs where necessary
* Assist with site validations and surveys to ensure all required information is gathered for design and quotations
* Manage labour resources, including new staff inductions and overseeing external contractors
* Liaise with client management teams to ensure smooth project operations and successful delivery
* Provide regular project reports and client updates
* Attend meetings, coordinate with other contractors, and ensure all relevant parties are kept informed
Requirements:
* Minimum of 3 years' proven experience in a similar Contracts Manager role, with strong references
* Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installations
* Inspection, Testing, and Certification (2391 or equivalent)
* Level 4 Electrical Design qualification (preferred but not essential)
* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification in date
* The ability to manage multiple projects, solve issues that arise and work under pressure
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
* Highly motivated, proactive, and results-driven with a positive can-do attitude
* Full UK driving license
Salary & Benefits:
* £70,000 to £80,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)
