Restructuring Assistant Manager – Birmingham
Numero recruitment have been engaged by a national firm of accountants to speak with restructuring professionals at Assistant Manager level. The Restructuring team is very busy at the moment and envisage further growth over the next 12 months.
Due to the technical nature of the role, professional training and further study will be available to successful candidates to maintain the high technical standards.
The Role:
1. Assist in distressed turnaround and advisory projects (including independent business reviews, options analysis, and contingency planning reviews) and administer corporate insolvency and solvent liquidation assignments.
2. Perform duties efficiently, thoroughly, and in accordance with the firm’s procedures and relevant statutory and extra-statutory obligations.
3. Communicate any problems in complying with instructions or any contentious issues to colleagues immediately.
4. Ensure cost-effective administration of cases and, where relevant, realisation of assets by maintaining records promptly and efficiently. Respond promptly to all correspondence and telephone calls.
5. Treat creditors and interested parties with respect and courtesy, practicing principles of excellent client service at all times.
6. Record time spent regularly, ensuring charges are consistent with work performed.
7. Monitor time costs and recommend appropriate billing to colleagues, including processing and obtaining necessary approvals for prompt fee collection.
8. Perform review procedures, ensuring points raised are adequately and promptly addressed.
9. Maintain awareness of the firm’s other services and liaise effectively with other departments.
10. Maintain an advanced level of technical knowledge through reading and courses, fulfilling CPE requirements.
Requirements:
1. ACA, ACCA, or CPI qualification (desirable but not essential).
2. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
3. Proactive thinking, problem-solving, and self-motivation skills.
4. Experience with Microsoft Office programs (or equivalent) and IPS (desirable but not essential).
