Early Years Practitioner - Inclusion Support (SEND)
Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is looking for two full‑time Early Years Practitioners to support families and settings in meeting the needs of children with SEND. This role is part of the Early Years Team, working to improve outcomes and reduce inequalities for children aged 0-5 across the sector.
About The Role
The Early Years’ Team brings together statutory and non‑statutory duties focusing on building the quality capacity of early‑years providers and delivering an early help offer and higher level of intervention for children with the most complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure children in early‑years settings achieve positive outcomes and transfer effectively into early education.
* Empower settings to develop inclusive practice and support children with additional needs, including SEND.
* Lead identification and assessment of individual children, ensuring holistic support is provided early.
About You
* A relevant professional qualification in early years, education, health therapies equivalent to Level 4, or equivalent experience.
* Evident continual professional development, e.g., SEND qualification or Early Years SENCO training.
* Experience of holistic assessment, planning, and review for children with additional needs/SEND.
* Experience of multi‑agency working across organisational boundaries.
