🌟 The Opportunity
A modern, forward-thinking accountancy practice is seeking a confident Payroll Clerk with strong client payroll experience to join their growing team.
⚡ Key Responsibilities
Process weekly and monthly client payrolls, mainly in Xero.
Manage starters, leavers, and payroll documentation.
Ensure full auto-enrolment compliance for clients.
Liaise confidently with HMRC (RTI submissions, enquiries, payroll queries).
Handle statutory payments (SSP, SMP etc.) and attachment of earnings.
Prepare CIS returns and associated bookkeeping.
Complete payroll year-end, P11Ds, Benefits in Kind.
🧠 Ideal Candidate
Strong end-to-end client payroll background (weekly + monthly).
Confident using Xero Payroll (essentially preferred, not mandatory).
Excellent accuracy, data entry, and communication skills.
Comfortable working both independently and within a small team.
Confident handling queries and statutory processes.
Immediate / 1–2 week notice ideal (up to 4 weeks considered).
