We are looking for an inspiring senior nurse who is committed to improving the experience, clinical outcomes and safety of our patients within Cancer Services.
As a Toxicity Nurse Specialist working closely with the oncology medical team and wider MDT you will be a skilled communicator with the ability to influence and motivate others, and someone who inspires others to provide excellent patient care. With comprehensive SACT knowledge, leadership experience and a commitment to service improvement.
You will need to be motivated and have a clear vision for the service. We are looking for someone to further develop nurse led patient care and to deliver an exceptional service to our patients.
Main duties of the job
Autonomous working, through provision of advanced assessment, initiation of investigations, diagnostic procedures, interpretation of results and optimising patients condition in discussion with the multidisciplinary team.
Engage directly with clinical teams in the management of SACT oncology patients, providing specialist advice, skills, leadership, collaboration and consultancy.
Co-ordinate the pathway of patients with SACT services across multi professional teams, through treatment, follow up and beyond.
To be an instrumental part of the effective leadership team for the Haematology/ Oncology day unit and the outpatient areas andimprove patient experience.
To provide a safe working environment for all patients, relatives, and staff, including risk management and Datix reporting and investigating as part of the role.

Education and Qualifications
* Masters Degree or equivalent experience in Advanced Clinical Practice
* Degree in Adult Nursing or equivalent experience
* Evidence of teaching/educating qualification or experience
* Evidence of continuous personal and professional development within cancer care
* Advanced Communication Skills – Level 7
* Advanced Clinical Assessment Skills
Experience
* Up to date evidence of 4 Pillars of Practice
* Experience of working autonomously
* Experience of chemotherapy training and administration
* Experience of working as a senior member of the team or in a leadership role
* Background in Oncology
* Experience of multi professional working
* Previous Oncology Toxicity experience
