About the Job:
We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Junior Finance & Accounting Specialist to join our growing remote team. This person will play a key role in managing our financial administration and day-to-day accounting processes as we scale our international operations.
You’ll work closely with our Head of Finance & Operations to ensure the accuracy and organization of payments, invoices, internal bookkeeping, and financial reporting. We are looking for someone who thrives in a structured but dynamic environment, is eager to learn, and can help us maintain clean financial processes across multiple entities.
Your Role:
Bookkeeping & Payments:
• Process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and recurring payments.
• Assist in bank reconciliations, cash flow tracking, and basic month-end processes.
• Help monitor accounts payable/receivable and maintain up-to-date financial records.
• Ensure correct allocation of invoices and expenses across entities.
• Support internal documentation for payments, invoices, and vendor contracts.
• Liaise with banks and payment platforms.
Administrative & Compliance:
• Support filings and compliance requirements across different jurisdictions (UK, Cyprus, Greece).
• Maintain financial documentation (contracts, payment schedules, vendor files, SOPs).
• Assist with VAT documentation, reporting, and coordination with local accountants.
• Help maintain financial data consistency across our accounting systems.
Finance Support:
• Assist in preparing internal financial summaries for reporting needs.
• Track monthly burn rates and payment schedules.
• Support grant or investor reporting administration.
• Coordinate with external accountants and finance providers as needed.
We’re Ideally Looking For:
Must-Haves:
• 1–3 years of experience in bookkeeping, finance admin, or accounting support.
• Basic knowledge of UK and/or EU accounting principles and VAT.
• Experience working with payment systems and invoice processing.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and financial documentation handling.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
Nice-to-Haves:
• Experience working with multi-entity or international financial structures.
• Familiarity with Xero or similar accounting platforms.
• IAT Certification or relevant bookkeeping/accounting qualification.
• Experience working in remote-first companies or fast-paced environments.
Potential Growth:
We’re also looking for someone with growth potential: once you master the role, we hope you’ll take increasing ownership, identify ways to improve and optimize our processes, and gradually grow into a more autonomous contributor within the finance team.
