The Role - DevOps Engineer
As a DevOps Engineer, you'll have impact from day one. You'll play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining the platforms, tooling, and automation that enable development teams to deliver quickly and safely. This DevOps Engineer role offers genuine ownership across infrastructure, CI/CD, and operational tooling.
You will: Design and deliver infrastructure and environment automation as a DevOps Engineer
Own, manage, and maintain Continuous Integration and deployment pipelines
Develop and enhance monitoring, alerting, and diagnostics capabilities
Deliver end-user automation solutions that improve reliability and efficiency
Apply sound judgement to understand the real business need behind technical requirements
Challenge existing systems and processes through automation and engineering best practice
Keep pace with emerging DevOps tools, technologies, and industry trends
What We're Looking For
To succeed as a DevOps Engineer, you'll bring strong engineering capability alongside excellent communication skills.
Key requirements include: Proven experience working as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role
Strong scripting experience (e.g. PowerShell or other scripting languages)
Prior development experience or the ability to code using C#, Java, or Python
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent
Containerisation experience using Docker, with orchestration via Kubernetes or Docker Swarm
Monitoring and observability experience using ELK, Grafana, or similar tools
CI/CD experience, including tools such as TeamCity
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
Strong Windows and Linux administration skills
The ability to communicate clearly and professionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders
A minimum 2:1 degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
Financial Services experience is advantageous but not essential
Desirable Experience
It would be beneficial if you also have experience with: Atlassian tools such as Bitbucket and Jira
Artifact repositories such as Artifactory
Deployment tools including Octopus Deploy
Static analysis tools such as SonarQube
Control-M
Cloud platforms ( Azure, AWS, or GCP )
VMware (vSphere) and SAN technologies
