Job overview If you have excellent, proven clerical and communication skills, and a friendly, polite and helpful manner then there is an opportunity for you to join our Children's Outpatient team as a Receptionist. We are looking for people to join our team who have the ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives and staff in our busy and rewarding department. To be successful in this role you will have experience of working in a similar role. You will be flexible, adaptable and able to work well under pressure. You are a team-player and enjoy working as part of a team. You will work closely with our reception team and other colleagues within the department. If you have the skills, experience and qualities to fill this post then we would love to hear from you. Training and support will be given to the successful candidate. Advert In this role, you will make a difference first point of contact for our patients and relatives at reception. You will be the first friendly face they see and will greet them in a friendly and courteous manner. You will answer all telephone and e-mail enquiries, taking and relaying messages in a polite and helpful manner and taking action to resolve as appropriate. You will also: Maintain patient details / appointments efficiently on the patient administration system. Book and reschedule follow up outpatient appointments including virtual appointments and ensure all patients are advised of their appointments with reasonable notice or after negotiation with the patient Book interpreters when required Liaise with Nurses, Doctors, GP’s and other members of the department to provide a quality service for the patients Support with clerical duties as required; this will include, photocopying, scanning and uploading of referrals, sorting of post and note prepping Working for our organisation At the RUH we’re proud to put people at the heart of what we do, working together as one team to make a difference for our patients, each other, and our community.
