We are excited to recruit ambitious and dedicated Assistant Buyers to join our dynamic Home and Clothing (F&F) teams at Tesco. As a leading multinational retailer, Tesco offers a vital role for Assistant Buyers, working alongside a Buying Manager to plan and deliver commercial, profitable ranges tailored to our customers’ needs.
This role is suitable for someone already experienced as an Assistant Buyer seeking a new challenge.
1. Build and source customer and market insight-led ranges and product innovations.
2. Support your manager in managing supplier performance.
3. Lead product setup within Tesco's proprietary systems for sale.
4. Identify potential new suppliers and support building long-term relationships.
5. Contribute to developing long-term, customer-focused category plans to drive loyalty.
6. Conduct store and website visits, review customer insights and trends to inform future product and range decisions.
7. Negotiate with suppliers with managerial support to improve trading positions sustainably.
8. Support the delivery of trade, promotions, marketing, and events plans to exceed KPIs and increase footfall.
9. Collaborate with Tesco Business Services and Supply Chain to ensure timely product delivery across channels.
10. Work with suppliers and the quality team to maintain product quality standards.
11. Manage commercial income, ensure accurate invoicing, and handle over-charges, under-charges, and aged debt weekly.
12. Brief, develop, and manage artwork and POS materials.
13. Adhere to Tesco policies, storage, and handover protocols, completing all required training.
14. Manage GHS setup.
