About the role
We are looking for a passionate and motivated individual to support the Contract Swim Manager with the swim schools across the three Council owned sites in South Kesteven, these being Grantham Meres Leisure Centre, Bourne Leisure Centre and Stamford Leisure Pool. The role will be based at, and focus primarily on Stamford Leisure Centre. As the site co-ordinator you will take ownership for the Stamford swim school and School Swimming programmes.
The role will be on a part-time basis at around 20 hours per week with essential hours being Monday 14:00 to 17:30 and Saturday 08:30 to 12:00. There is some flexibility around the remaining hours, however, there will be a requirement for them to be worked in line with swim school and school swimming hours, lesson observations and assessments etc.
You’ll be a key person within LeisureSK and have a passion for aquatics, wanting to maximise the opportunities for as many members of the community, particularly children, to have the opportunity to learn to swim.
Following the guidance of the Contract Swim Manager, you’ll support the General Managers on all aspects of the swim school and school swimming programmes and helping develop pathways to our network of Aquatic Clubs in the district.
As a manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring growth of the whole swim school programme through recruitment of new swimmers and their retention throughout the stages. You will develop the scheme in line with industry best practice and wider links to water safety campaigns where appropriate. You will support the General Managers in managing the team working with other Swim School Managers and Swimming Teachers to ensure a consistent approach across the district.
You will need to have a keen eye for performance, helping to develop KPI trackers and league tables which will be used appropriately to monitor your success.
Role responsibilities:
* To achieve set targets for sales, cancellations and growth for swimming lessons
* To ensure swim lesson KPI’s are met. These include but are not limited to: movements, occupancy, taster lessons delivered, parent home portal logins
* To train and support front of house teams to deliver the Swim School customer journey
* To work with the site management team to ensure the pool program maximises opportunities for swimming lessons
* To be the first point of contact for any swim lesson related enquiries, complaints or queries.
* To deliver taster lessons to potential swim lesson customers
* To manage the Swim School and School Swimming teaching teams on a day-to-day basis with the support of the Contract Swimming Manager. Including but not limited to:
o Recruitment and development of all swim school team members
o Swim team inductions
o Lesson observations and feedback
o Mentoring and developing teachers
o Arranging regular training events to ensure all members of the team benefit from continued professional development.
* To assist in the development and delivery of appropriate Swim School procedures to support the growth of the programmes. Including but not limited to:
o Ensuring enquiries are converted to enrolments
o Manage the pool layout to maximise effective use of the pool.
o Managing DD payments e.g. processing cancellations and monitoring retention in line with agreed procedures.
* To deliver regular team meetings for your Swim Team and attend relevant site team meetings.
* To ensure sufficient resources and equipment are available to deliver swimming lessons
* Ensure that all statutory requirements concerning Health and Safety at Work Legislation are observed,
* Performing other duties not specified but which may be required to facilitate the performance of the above duties.

Relevant Experience:
* Marketing and promotional experience (D)
* Previous experience of working in a sales environment, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets. (D)
* Experience of working within and contributing to the management of large swim school programmes. (E)
* Experience of devising and managing pool programmes (D)
* Experience and knowledge of direct debit and membership systems(D)
* Experience of supervising staff including training and induction. (D)
* Experience observing and mentoring individuals and identifying strengths and areas for improvement and collating the appropriate training plans. (D)
* Extensive experience of teaching swimming lessons to children and adults within a Swim School environment. (E)
* Experience delivering School Swimming Programmes.

Relevant Qualifications:
* Swim England/ STA Level 2 Swimming Teacher (E)
* RLSS National Pool Lifeguard or NRASTC qualification. (E)
* Swim England Level 3 Swimming Co-ordinator Qualification or ability to complete within 12 months(E)
* RLSS NPLQ TA. (D)
* High Standard of IT proficiency. (D)
* Full driving license and access to own vehicle. (D)
