Retail Shopkeeper – Grocery Operations
Job Type: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Retail Shopkeeper to manage and oversee daily operations of a large grocery store. This role is a blend of hands-on floor management and strategic operational oversight, requiring excellent leadership and commercial acumen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and participate in day-to-day store operations, including till work and customer interaction
- Determine product selection and forecasting to meet customer demand and maintain brand standards
- Manage stock levels, order inventory, and ensure optimal quality and freshness of goods
- Develop staff rotas, supervise team members, and facilitate ongoing training
- Address customer queries with professionalism and uphold high standards of service
- Monitor merchandising and display strategies to drive sales
- Implement store security procedures including opening/closing routines, incident reporting, and cash handling protocols
- Maintain accurate financial records and authorize supplier payments
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and security regulations in a retail environment
