Assistant Manager - Welling, London Position Overview The Assistant Manager supports the General Manager in the daily operations of the gym. This role ensures smooth facility functioning, excellent member service, and supports the growth and success of the gym through staff coordination and operational execution. Key Responsibilities Operations Support Assist with daily opening/closing procedures and facility inspections. Ensure cleanliness, equipment readiness, and overall facility upkeep. Coordinate staff schedules and fill in as needed for front desk operations. Member Service Deliver outstanding customer service and support member needs. Handle member inquiries, and issue resolution. Assist with onboarding and membership consultations. Sales & Retention Support membership sales initiatives and promotional campaigns. Conduct tours, explain membership options, and follow up with leads. Build relationships to strengthen community and member retention. Staff & Training Assist in training new employees and maintaining service standards. Provide daily leadership when the General Manager is not present. Help maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment. Administrative Duties Assist with inventory, reporting, and basic financial tracking. Ensure proper documentation and adherence to gym policies. Qualifications 1–2 years of customer service or supervisory experience (fitness experience a plus). Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Organized, reliable, and proactive. CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).
