About the Pupils and Their Needs
You will be teaching pupils who may experience:
* Autism spectrum conditions, including communication differences, sensory sensitivities, and a strong need for structure
* Moderate to severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD)
* Speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN)
* Social interaction difficulties or challenges understanding social cues
* Cognitive delays affecting processing, memory, and problem-solving
* Sensory processing differences that may lead to overload, shutdowns, or avoidance
* Anxiety around transitions, unfamiliar tasks, or routine changes
These pupils thrive with clear structure, predictable routines, and a teacher who can adapt their practice thoughtfully.
Role Responsibilities
As an SEN Teacher, you will:
* Plan and deliver highly differentiated, individualised lessons
* Work collaboratively with TAs, SENCOs, therapists, and multi-agency teams
* Use structured teaching approaches such as TEACCH, visual supports, communication systems, and sensory strategies
* Create low-arousal, inclusive classroom environments
* Implement EHCP targets and contribute to reviews and specialist assessments
* Build positive relationships that promote engagement, communication, and independence
* Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals
* Support personal care routines where required

* January start dates (opportunities throughout the spring term)
* Full-time roles available; part-time considered in some settings
* Term-time only
* Long-term and permanent positions will be paid to the teacher pay scale, dependent on experience (MPS/UPS)
* CPD opportunities provided, including autism training, sensory regulation, and communication approaches
