Job Description

Technical Interior Designer

Bath | £35,000 - £45,000 + Quarterly Bonus + Extensive Benefits

Some designers are at their happiest developing concepts.

Others are at their best when turning those concepts into something that can actually be built.

Our client is looking for the latter.

This is an opportunity to join one of the UK's leading workplace design and build businesses; a company on a mission to banish boring offices and create inspiring environments that genuinely improve the experience of the people who use them.

Their projects range from bespoke workplace fit-outs to large-scale, multi-million-pound refurbishments delivered across the UK.

As their project workload continues to grow, they are looking to appoint a Technical Interior Designer who can bring confidence, accuracy and technical expertise to the delivery of workplace projects.

This role will suit someone who enjoys getting into the details.

Someone who takes pride in producing high-quality drawing packages.

Someone who enjoys solving technical challenges and seeing their designs successfully delivered on-site.

The Opportunity

Working as part of a collaborative design team, you will play a key role in translating design concepts into fully coordinated technical information ready for construction.

You will work closely with designers, project managers, suppliers and contractors, helping ensure that projects are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with the original design intent.

This is a highly varied role where you will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from developed design through to construction and completion.

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Producing detailed technical drawing packages
  • Developing plans, elevations, sections, joinery details and construction information
  • Coordinating design information across multiple project stakeholders
  • Supporting Building Regulations compliance and technical design requirements
  • Conducting site visits and surveys
  • Attending project and design coordination meetings
  • Resolving technical queries during construction
  • Working closely with contractors and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery
  • Supporting workplace fit-out and refurbishment projects from concept through to completion

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with designers who enjoy the technical side of workplace interiors and understand how great design is brought to life through accurate information and effective delivery.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience within workplace, commercial office or design and build interiors
  • Strong technical drawing and detailing capabilities
  • Experience producing construction and tender drawing packages
  • Good understanding of interior fit-out construction methods
  • Experience in attending site visits and supporting live project delivery
  • Knowledge of Building Regulations and technical compliance requirements
  • Excellent spatial planning and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with multiple stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD
  • A collaborative and proactive approach

Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys the challenge of turning great ideas into well-executed spaces.

Why Join?

What stood out to us about this business is the balance they have created between creativity and technical excellence.

Designers are trusted with responsibility, encouraged to develop their skills and given genuine exposure to exciting projects from day one.

You'll be joining a business that invests heavily in its people and offers clear opportunities for progression.

The package includes:

  • Competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
  • Quarterly bonus scheme
  • Structured training and development programme
  • Revit and technical training support
  • Regular CPD sessions and supplier presentations
  • Mentoring from senior designers and creative leaders
  • Two paid volunteering days per year
  • Enhanced annual leave package
  • Regular team socials and company events
  • Clear progression opportunities within a growing business

The team work primarily from their studio in the centre of Bath and strongly believes that collaboration, creativity and learning happen best together. As such, this is predominantly an office-based role, with regular site visits and occasional flexibility when required.

If you're a technically strong Interior Designer looking for a role where your expertise will have a genuine impact on the delivery of exceptional workplace projects, we'd love to hear from you.
