The award-winning Chain Reaction is looking for a dynamic Treasurer to join our inspiring team of Volunteer Trustees.
Job Description
Our skilled and diverse Board guides our strategy, ensures financial and legal compliance, and promotes our vital work with young people. They are a lively and positive board who bring energy and commitment to an upbeat youth-focused arts organisation.
As Treasurer, you'll oversee financial management, ensuring robust controls and policies are in place. The day-to-day finances are handled by our office team using QuickBooks. The company's financial structures and systems are well established and we have a long history of efficient financial management. The role involves five meetings a year (3-4 in Bromley-by-Bow, 1-2 online). This role is supported by a dedicated team, with opportunities for guidance and training to ensure a smooth and rewarding experience.
ABOUT US
We deliver workshop programmes and professional theatre in and out of schools, run youth theatres, social action groups, fringe theatre and creative employability programmes. We are based in Newham and work primarily in areas of extreme deprivation.
Our innovative projects respond directly to the current needs of young people and tackle the most acute social problems, including youth unemployment, gangs, social exclusion, youth violence, teenage pregnancy, conflict resolution, mental health, substance misuse and bullying.
Chain Reaction was originally founded by Sarah Smit (our Artistic Director) and a group of other young women from East London. With a huge passion for using the arts to ignite change, we set about using theatre and media to communicate important messages about health and social issues. Over the years we're proud to have engaged over 415,000 young people through transformative projects that make a huge difference to those who need it most.
