THALES is looking for a DevSecOps Engineer to play a key role in supporting the transformation towards a cloud‑operating environment across some of our most exciting and strategically important digital and AI programmes. As part of our UK cortAIx team, you will help build, secure and evolve next‑generation DevOps environments that enable cutting‑edge AI solutions across Thales.

What will you deliver?
Working as part of an agile development team, you will design, build and support secure, resilient cloud environments for Thales UK, helping AI product, programme and project teams to adopt modern DevSecOps ways of working.
Building & Automating Cloud Infrastructure
13. Design and build industry‑leading cloud infrastructure on Azure and other hyperscale platforms
14. Create secure, low‑maintenance cloud environments using modern DevSecOps practices
15. Develop and maintain tooling to support efficient CI/CD pipelines
16. Drive automation to improve development, release and deployment processes
17. Support release and production environments where required
Maintaining Technical Solutions
18. Ensure products are deployed correctly and consistently within established technical rules
19. Provide delivery teams with automated tools/scripts to provision compute, storage and network resources
20. Help define and enhance the technical approach for cloud environments
Securing Platform Infrastructure
21. Understand the functional context of products and challenge functional decisions where appropriate
22. Embed operational best practice (monitoring, backups, logging, supervision)
23. Ensure the squad understands operational constraints and provide training where needed
24. Uphold strong security practices across cloud environments
25. Communicate best practice and educate the wider Thales UK engineering community
Who are we looking for?
26. A strong interest in cloud technologies and evidence of self‑development
27. Good understanding of IaaS and PaaS
28. Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure
29. Ability and interest in scripting languages
30. Experience with Terraform or Ansible for Infrastructure as Code
31. Experience with CI/CD tools and build pipelines
32. Exposure to application development
33. Understanding of cloud design patterns and how to apply them
Desirable Skills
This mid‑senior role supports several high‑priority AI deliverables, so it is beneficial if you are:
34. Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority and technical depth
35. An advocate for modern DevSecOps and software delivery practices
36. Able to work across multiple concurrent projects
37. Collaborative, and able to work with wider technical functions to embed cloud solutions across the business
This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.
To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
