Science Instructor - Northampton
Location: Northampton Start Date: June or September 2026 Contract Type: Full-Time | Long-Term | Potential for Permanent Position Pay Rate: £120-£190 per day (based on experience and responsibilities)

We are currently recruiting for a Science Instructor to join a supportive secondary school in Northampton from June or September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for graduates, experienced tutors, cover supervisors, or unqualified teachers looking to build their experience within a school setting.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Science department to deliver engaging lessons and support students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
* Delivering engaging and structured Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
* Supporting lesson planning and adapting materials to meet different learning needs
* Explaining scientific concepts in clear and accessible ways
* Maintaining a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
* Managing classroom behaviour effectively and professionally
* Supporting students with classwork, practical activities, and independent learning
* Tracking pupil progress and providing feedback where required
* Participating in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and wider school activities
Who We're Looking For:
* Graduates with a degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical Science, Environmental Science, etc.)
* Candidates with experience working with young people or within education
* Individuals with strong communication skills and confidence leading groups
* Enthusiastic, reliable, and proactive team players
* Those considering future teacher training routes such as PGCE, SCITT, or QTS Apprenticeships
* Applicants with an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
