The role
As Financial Controller, you will take day-to-day responsibility for the provision of financial services across the Service Centre (Northern Europe), ensuring alignment with corporate finance guidelines, internal controls, statutory requirements, and relevant accounting standards. Reporting to the Head of Shared Serviceswith dotted line to Group corporate finance, you will help drive high standards within the finance function and support a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.?
You will work closely with General Managers in each market to jointly lead theregular monthly and annual reporting cycle,annual budgeting process, manage forecasting cycles, andprovide the financial insight they need to make sound commercial decisions. The role is 100% office based and will involve occasional overseas travel.
Key responsibilities
Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting, planning, budgeting, and forecasting for all market organisations.?
Drive and monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring financial accuracy, transparency, and on-time submission.?
Partner with key stakeholders to provide financial insight, support decision making, and monitor business performance.?
Lead preparation for external audits and ensure all statutory accounts, tax returns, and regulatory submissions are completed accurately and on time.?
Manage relationships with external specialist partners where defined, including auditors and advisors.?
Ensure all statutory, tax, and regulatory filings are completed within required deadlines for each legal entity, addressing both local and international requirements.?
Manage company pension schemes with external advisors, ensuring full compliance.?
Ensure all business insurances are managed and maintained in line with group guidelines.?
Oversee key UK contracts, including the company car leased fleet and mobile phone contract.?
Support post-calculation and annual recalculation activities (allocations and machine hourly rates) as the basis for standard price calculations.?
Maintain a strong customer-service focus, developing and tracking KPIs for your area of responsibility.?
About you
You are a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with industry experience in a financemanagement role looking totake the next stepin your finance career. You are comfortable balancing hands-on financial management with strategic input, and you can confidently influence stakeholders at all levels, both locally and internationally.?
