Care Home Manager NMC Registered — Hill Care
Location: Whiteabbey Care Home, 104 Doagh Road, Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland, County Antrim, BT37 9QP
Responsibilities
* Main purpose of the role: Leading the home and team of employees to deliver outstanding levels of care to all residents in a safe, welcoming, caring and stimulating environment, whilst increasing profitability and developing brand awareness through occupancy and fee rate growth. Overall responsibility for all services and levels of service provided to residents through well trained, competent, motivated and excited employees.
* Financial and Resource Management:
o Maximise financial performance of the home, exceeding budgetary targets and increase the percentage of private fee payers.
o Purchase stock and budgetary control of all consumable items required for day-to-day operation to meet budgeted performance targets.
o Authorize purchase of equipment and its maintenance or replacement within budgets.
o Collaborate with other supporting departments to produce an annual Business Plan with targets and Budgets.
* People Management:
o Recruit, retain and develop all team members, ensuring staffing levels are maintained and costs are within budget.
o Review skills and knowledge of team members and provide opportunities for training and development, including annual appraisals, supervisions and mid-term reviews.
o Establish a collaborative, open and honest culture where all team members can thrive.
* Business Development:
o Maintain excellent relationships with the RQIA, comply with legal and statutory requirements, and represent the Home as the Registered Manager.
o Act as an ambassador to represent the home to key decision-makers, building a sound reputation in the local community.
o Work with the Regional Manager and support team to drive sales, margin growth and new service development to deliver positive home performance against KPIs.
* Strategic Planning and Development:
o Undertake proactive occupancy planning and develop strategies to maximise occupancy and pricing levels.
* Quality:
o Build and maintain relationships with residents, relatives and external parties involved in wellbeing; respond to reasonable requests and investigate complaints in line with company policy.
o Review and maintain records in line with Information Governance and Care Standards; communicate openly with residents, relatives and stakeholders.
* Health and Safety:
o Ensure overall health and safety of the home for residents, visitors and staff in line with guidelines and legislation, including risk assessments, COSHH, moving and handling, food hygiene, fire safety and incident reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum 3 years experience as a Deputy Manager/Senior Nursing staff.
* NMC Registered.
* Experience as a Home Manager (NMC Registered) preferred.
