Location: London We are looking for an experienced qualified, registered and accredited counsellor/psychotherapist to offer counselling/psychotherapy to individual members of staff within the banks in-house staff counselling service. This role is varied and consists of you holding a caseload of individual clients, developing and contributing towards teaching and training sessions across the bank and opportunities to provide reflective practice. Additionally, you will be liaising with the Bank's Wellbeing Unit, Human Resources (People Division), the Employees Assistance Programme and external clinicians with the support of the senior counsellor and the team. Case management supervision and professional clinical supervision is provided internally in line with BACP/UKCP guidelines. Opportunities for continuing professional development will be provided. Job Description Offer counselling/psychotherapy to individual members of staff at the bank in accordance with the in-house counselling guidelines/remit, making recommendations for onward referral where appropriate. Keep confidential contemporaneous counselling records in line with the service's current processes and systems. Ensure accurate statistics are maintained regarding utilisation and assist the Senior Counsellor in compiling reports as required. Offer a hybrid way of working to clients accessing the service - offering sessions where appropriate online or face to face. Ensure confidentiality of client's personal information in accordance with the Data Protection Act, GDPR and the BACP/UKCP Ethical Framework. Take part in and support the development of quality assurance and enhancement activities and procedures as directed by the Senior Counsellor particularly with the aim of maintaining standards in accordance with the BACP/UKCP. Create and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues within Occupational Health, Human Resources (People Directorate) and other relevant departments within the Bank. Ability to use own initiative, work independently as well as part of a team. In conjunction with the Senior Counsellor or Counselling team represent the Service on matters of employee mental health and wellbeing, including addressing groups of colleagues and dealing with external organisations as required. Deliver training and consultative support to managers involved in supporting staff when appropriate. Signpost clients onto appropriate services when the need arises, such as the Employee Assistance Programme, or other wellbeing offerings at the Bank. In collaboration with the Senior counsellor/Counselling team, offer post incident support sessions to the relevant teams as and when requested following an incident at the Bank. In collaboration with the Senior Counsellor/Counselling team offer reflective supervision spaces to identified groups at the bank such as; mental health first aiders. Support the Senior Counsellor/Counselling team with digitalising services and finding efficient ways of working in line with the banks strategic priorities. Develop and provide workshops and/or groups to colleagues on relevant issues where a need is identified. Prepare for, participate in and fully engage with regular clinical supervision and line management sessions provided by the Senior Counsellor Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, including your professional bodies CPD requirements. Take steps to ensure and enhance personal health, safety and wellbeing and that of clients. Role Requirements: Minimum Criteria Professional qualification in adult Counselling/Psychotherapy to advanced diploma, undergraduate degree, or post graduate degree level (Adv Dip, BA, BSc, PG Dip, MA, MSc) that meets requirements of either British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) or United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) or one of UKCP's affiliated colleges. Registered and accredited by either BACP, UKCP, BPC, or other PSA regulated accredited register. Three years post qualification experience working as an adult Counsellor/ Psychotherapist preferably within a clinical setting. Demonstrable experience of providing Counselling/Psychotherapy and managing a caseload. Skills in the use of clinical psychological assessment, triage, intervention and management across a clinical therapeutic caseload. Essential Criteria Experience of using differing therapeutic models to meet different client needs, irrespective of individual therapeutic orientation. Experience and understanding of working with psychological trauma as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist. Experience of managing risk and safeguarding both therapeutically and in line with organisational polices and procedures. Evidence of continual professional development in accordance with professional bodies requirement. Experience of signposting clients to better support therapeutic outcomes and an excellent understanding of working within own competencies. Experience of being able to liaise confidently and effectively with other professionals including senior stakeholders. Experience of planning and organising own work time and responding to unforeseen situations as they arise. Well developed skills in ability to communicate sensitive and complex information both orally and in written form with relevant stakeholders and third parties. Ability to communicate and work with the team collaboratively, engaging in service development on a continual basis. Experience of working with people with a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds, and with a range of ages, demonstrating a commitment to inclusion. To engage in communication which is respectful at all times and takes into account the whole person. Ability to foster trust with clients, colleagues and key stakeholders acting with integrity at all times. Experience of working in a team as well as ability to work independently, seeking advice when needed. To be able to offer flexibility to the service as and when required and be able to work on a Wednesday. Desirable Criteria Trained in group work facilitation or a recognised teaching and training qualification. Second psychological therapy qualification/training, such as: EMDR, TF-CBT, NET, CAT, ACT, Schema Therapy. Clinical supervision qualification as recognised by BACP/UKCP. Salary and Benefits Information The London, pro rata salary for this role is £48,960 - £55,080 per annum. We encourage flexible working and job share arrangements. Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate.
