What is the role?
As Payroll Supervisor you will take the lead in our Payroll function as part of the wider HR team, delivering an accurate and reliable payroll service to all employees whilst identifying opportunities to improve processes and being involved in Payroll projects.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Supervise Payroll Operations: Oversee all payroll activities for c1100 employees in UK, Ireland, Spain and Germany, ensuring accurate calculation of pay and deductions and timely processing of payroll runs. Upload and send timely payroll information for static and variable allowances via templates and emails. Utilise payroll systems – Cintra (UK) and IRIS (overseas). Manage onboarding administration and upload pension scheme contributions to pension providers including Cushon.
* Liaise with key stakeholders, Directors, Managers and HR to gain payroll information as well as using payroll and HR systems. Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues, ensuring that all employee enquiries are addressed promptly and accurately. Correspond with HMRC and other agencies.
* Team Management: Develop and line‑manage the payroll administrator, provide training and support to ensure compliance with payroll policies and procedures. Act as the first point of escalation for payroll‑related issues. Participate in Payroll projects as required.
* Reporting: Prepare and analyse payroll reports, including statistical data on employee pay, bonuses, and deductions. Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring all employee compensation data is accurately captured and processed. Pro‑actively engage in regular salary benchmarking and gender pay gap projects to improve our retention and reputation.
* Compliance: Ensure processes are compliant and stay updated on changes in legislation that may impact. Communicate effectively with auditors. Seek and identify opportunities to improve & enhance current processes.
Is this the role for you?

* Excellent problem‑solving and organisational skills, working well under pressure and to deadlines
* 3 years’ experience in managing payroll start to finish
* In‑depth knowledge of Payroll processes
* Intermediate to advanced Excel (training provided)
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of salary exchange and auto‑enrolment, and Gender Pay Gap reporting experience. If you are CIPP qualified this is a bonus; if not support for you to undertake the qualification will be considered.
