Overview
Senior Social Media Manager role at Autotrader. Based in Manchester with travel to London to maintain a team across both locations. Lead the development and delivery of social media strategy across platforms to build brand awareness, drive engagement, and strengthen advocacy with car buyers and sellers nationwide.
What You'll Do
* Lead the development and delivery of the social media strategy across platforms (Facebook, Threads, TikTok, Instagram and beyond) to create bold, shareable content that resonates with audiences.
* Guide and inspire the social media team, oversee campaigns, grow communities, and manage a fast-moving schedule of updates.
* Understand diverse audiences, what drives engagement and loyalty, and create content that builds long-term followership and fandom.
* Use data and insights to continually optimise performance, report to stakeholders, and spot new opportunities for social-first experiments.
* Champion Autotrader's social voice within the business and externally, representing the brand at industry events.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive storytelling and brand representation.
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience operating at a similar level within an agency or in-house marketing team for a consumer-facing brand.
* Experience managing social media and content teams, providing clear guidance, regular feedback, and development opportunities.
* Evidence of Social Media Management experience and strategic leadership aligned with a brand vision and marketing goals.
* Strongly data-driven with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
* Solid understanding of content and the content production process.
* Experience across a diverse number of social platforms and curiosity to discover new ones.
* Track record of working with influencers, content creators and other brand partners on social-first campaigns.
* Existing relationships with key social media platforms and experience managing user-generated social campaigns.
* A clear articulation of what makes branded community management great and a vision for applying that at Autotrader.
* Strong communication and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams for cohesive storytelling and brand representation.
* Demonstrable knowledge of how social plays in AI and LLMs and ideas to optimise for them.

* Salary of £50,000 – £60,000, plus 10% of salary in shares awarded yearly for three years (vested). You may sell or keep shares.
