Job Summary
Responsible for applying coatings and performing surface finishing on metallic blades in accordance with work instructions and quality standards. This role supports production by preparing materials, operating tools and equipment, inspecting parts, and completing required documentation. Ensures compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while maintaining a clean and organized work environment and supporting overall operational objectives.
Job Responsibilities
1. Apply coatings and paint to various metallic blades in accordance to operations sheets
2. Mix paint and other solutions for coating process
3. Create coupons for workflow
4. Load and unload blades from furnances and ovens as per required for curing process
5. Inspect blade as per specifications listed on work instructions
6. Identifies and evaluates patterns. Prior to removal of material determines method to remove material to meet customer specifications
7. Knows how to use handheld air powered tools such as grinders, sanders, and deburring tools
8. Demonstrates understanding of following standard operating procedures to acquire desired results in a timely manner while meeting all quality aspects
9. Knowledge of surface finishing processes including blending and sanding parts (experience working with titanium parts a plus)
10. Responsible for filling out or stamping approval of processes related documentation
11. Maintains records assoicated with periodic maintenance and orders spare/replacements parts as required
12. Maintains a clean work environment including assigned storage and cleaning duties in full compliance with company standards, customer and government regulations
13. Assists in the development and maintenance of a business culture, which supports the company's overall business objectives and goals, to include issues that involve "cost, quality, procees, schedule and people"
14. Ensures the company's commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the environment throught the establishment and support of the Company policy and adherence to various government regulations
15. Fully complies with the GKN Aerospace Inc Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government in all areas of responsibility involving direct and indirect contracting with the United States Government
16. Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilites as assigned
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications
17. High school diploma or GED
18. 3+ years of experience in manufacturing
19. Must be able to read blueprints, schematics and diagrams
20. Must be a US Person (Citizen or Green Card Holder) or have the ability to obtain the neccessary Government licensing to work with controlled technology and products
Preferred Qualifications
21. GKN experience
22. Experience working with hazadours materials and/or chemcials
23. The ability to work as a team players as well as indpendently is required
24. Knowledge and experience in trouble shooting for safety, quality and technical issues with co-workers, quality and engineer functions
25. Must be willing to work in repetitive production environment with concern for meeting cost, quality and schedule requirements
Physical Requirements
26. Standing and walking (at least 7hrs/day)
27. Ability to carry and lift weight up to 25lbs
28. Bending, squatting, reaching, pushing and pulling required (at least 2hrs/day)
29. Use of hands for fine dexterity, light, and strong grasping (at least 7hrs/day)
