Pay rate: £45-55 per hour umbrella (depending on experience)
Location: Preston, Lancashire
Working: 5 Days onsite (changing to 3/4 days after 6 months)
Hours of work: 37-40 Hours Per Week
A Mechanical Design Engineer is needed to carry out design changes to existing facilities and to contribute to the design of new-build structures on a Nuclear Licensed Site. The role involves delivering mechanical engineering designs in line with defined standards, regulatory requirements, and internal design control procedures. Assigned work packages must be completed with a focus on quality, safety, and adherence to project timelines. Responsibilities will span the full design lifecycle—from initial concept and development through to final production and handover. Tasks will include preparing equipment specifications, initiating and evaluating tenders, producing detailed designs (including drawings and supporting documents), and generating commissioning and handover documentation.
