Ganger - Environment Hampshire / West Sussex What you will be doing: You will work on our Southern Water Frameworks within our Environment Business, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Treatment Waste and Water schemes, delivering both Design and Build. Ideally, you will based in or around the Hampshire / West Sussex area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region. This is a "Hands on" position and we are seeking individuals with experience in a similar position with the relevant clean and waste water experience. The role will report to the General Foreman on a day to day basis. You will: Supervise a team of 3 to 4 people to carry out all aspects of civil engineering tasks such as: Ground works / Pipe and duct laying / placing and finishing of concrete / Installation of temporary works in line with the design. Ensure all works are carried out in line with approved method statements and they have been briefed to the gang and understood Carry out checks on all plant and material Ensure all permits are in place and signed before work commences Communication Liaise and co-ordinate with all Galliford Try functions to support the overall business objectives Security In conjunction with the Site Manager, appraise the security risk to all Galliford Try property under your control and install security levels commensurate to the relative values. H&S and Environment: Safety is the cornerstone of Galliford Try strategy. Recognise that Health and Safety considerations are central to all tasks and contribute to ensuring safe working environment for all. Actively support the Site Manager to maintain and enforce safety standards as required by statute and in accordance with Galliford Try's Safety Policies Work to Method Statements and Risk Assessments. Ensure compliance to all HS&E policies and procedures Quality & Document Control Understand and implement the Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies and Targets; Comply, as appropriate, with the processes contained within the Galliford Try BMS; Suggest improvements to the Galliford Try BMS when they become apparent. Ensure 4 Projects is used as document management system About You: We are looking for passion and a willingness to deliver excellence. If you have solid experience as a Ganger working on civil engineering projects (ideally wastewater treatment projects), then get in touch as I want to hear from you.
