At VVB we are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager who is fully accountable and responsible for projects P&L within the sector. The role includes accountability for project operational and commercial performance, with a strong emphasis on contracts management. The role will also be responsible for the leadership and development of teams within the highways sector as well as the application of VVB’s CORE values in their day-to-day duties.
Providing leadership and project management in all facets of the project activities to deliver the project to meet cost, time, and quality requirements.
Supervising and developing a high performing team that strives for quality, safety, cost and schedule improvements at every opportunity with all delivery partners, challenging and seeking to improve the project deliverables.
Working with the client and reporting to the sector manager, responsible for helping to establish the strategy and delivery for the project.
Manage project reporting highlighting key metrics such as revenue and cost, cashflow, profitability, risk, and opportunities as well as other project performance criteria. Review of trends and instigation of action plans to ensure reduction of business exposure and increase in performance.
Reporting of all Heath & Wellbeing, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability statistics across projects inline the company requirements.
Delivery of all key project documentation to business at start of project including PEP, PAP, PBP & HASEMP. Liaison with Sector Manager for briefing on project and documentation acceptance.
On occasions in partnership with Work Winning (and BU Business Development), ownership of the bid process through to offer for projects within the sector. On occasion full Bid management will be required depending on client requirements and experience.
Establishment of new areas of opportunity within sector for growth (working with Sector Manager). Review competencies of project personnel within the sector with HoD/Principles to ensure that all personnel have suitable training, qualifications & behaviours to ensure suitability for the role.
Ensure that all works are reviewed by the relevant responsible and competent person and are undertaken effectively to ensure compliance with company procedures, legal requirements, and relevant standards.
Management of project or teams to ensure business KPI’s are met including Sustainability, HR & development, and any sector specific KPI’s as determined by the Business.
Working with the HR team to ensure suitable deployment on projects, and associated recruitment.
Assist the Sector Manager in the development of strategic sector supply chain with Procurement and Commercial focusing on alignment with VVB core values, competence, and capability, value, and delivery certainty.
Must have delivered multiple contracts successfully within the Road Tunnels & Highways sector.
Good working knowledge of relevant electrical, mechanical and comms installations legislation and standards.
Key account management experience. Financial experience – ensuring cost, revenue, profit and cashflow are effectively managed and understood
Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Communications background)
HSE training (SMSTS)
This role will be based across our project locations, you will be required to travel to other sites and offices as and when required.
