Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and ambitious individuals to fulfil the role of an Assistant Genetic Technologist. This is a permanent position based at the NHS North West Genomics Laboratory Hub (NWGLH), Liverpool Women’s Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Perform technical and administrative tasks in a laboratory section under the supervision of a Senior Genetic Technologist.
* Execute protocol-driven tasks, including manipulation of fine tools and operation of specialised laboratory equipment, following detailed instructions and departmental procedures.
* Collaborate with other team members to achieve an effective and reliable service, meeting professional reporting time guidelines.
* Work accurately, maintaining constant attention to detail and managing workloads under tight deadlines.
Qualifications
* A levels in relevant subject areas or equivalent literacy and numeracy skills.
* Computer literacy required.
* Experience in a diagnostic laboratory environment is desirable.
* Excellent communication skills, ability to work well in a team, remain calm under pressure, and prioritise workload.
* Flexible attitude and ability to work to tight deadlines.

* Attention to detail and strong organisational/multi-tasking skills.
* Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination suitable for fine tool manipulation.
