Overview

Aspris, Avebury House Children’s Home, Shepton Mallet, England, United Kingdom, provides nurturing care and support for up to 6 children and young people with autism and associated learning difficulties. Avebury House operates 38 weeks per year (term time only). Current shifts available are on weekdays only, including early morning starts and late evening finishes. The Residential Support Worker role involves supporting children and young people in all aspects of independence, activities, life skills and social and emotional wellbeing.

Our Residential Support Workers build strong relationships and help young people overcome challenges, with the most rewarding outcomes being seen as they progress.

Located in the market town of Shepton Mallet, this role focuses on providing emotional support and practical assistance in daily living, while fostering a positive and supportive environment for the young people in our care.


Responsibilities

* Provide emotional support to young people and assist with day-to-day activities such as getting washed, dressed and ready for school.
* Support independence, life skills, activities and social and emotional wellbeing. Help young people progress and thrive.
* Support weekend shifts when applicable, with activities and outings away from the home (e.g., theme parks, bowling, cinemas, zoos).
* Build strong relationships with young people and contribute to a rewarding and fulfilling environment.
* Collaborate with the team to ensure a safe, nurturing and structured setting.
