Role Description
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Finance Manager will be responsible for leading all financial operations, reporting and internal controls across the group. You'll play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate financial insight and commercial analysis and developing scalable finance processes as we grow. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, autonomy and building from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
* Own the end-to-end finance operations for the group, including oversight of the full month-end and year-end close process.
* Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary on key drivers.
* Develop and maintain a weekly cash flow forecast, ensuring robust cash management and forward visibility.
* Partner closely with project leads to track progress, ensure timely and accurate invoicing and cost capture and deliver project-level P&Ls with actionable insight into profitability.
* Build out revenue analysis and scenario modelling, supporting strategic planning and investment decisions.
* Assist the CFO with annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and business planning.
* Implement and improve financial processes, policies, and controls to ensure scalability and rigour as the business grows.
* Liaise with external providers including payroll, tax advisors, insurance brokers and the accountants responsible for statutory accounts.
* Take full responsibility for all day-to-day finance tasks including raising sales invoices, posting supplier invoices, reconciling bank and credit card statements, managing staff expenses, setting up payment runs, raising intercompany invoices and reconciling intercompany accounts.
* Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
* Prior experience in a hands-on in-house finance role, ideally in a consultancy, start-up, or scale-up environment.
* Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate outputs under pressure.
* Comfortable operating as the sole finance professional day-to-day, with oversight and support from the CFO.
* Proficiency with Xero or similar cloud-based accounting platforms.
* Advanced skills in Excel; experience with financial modelling and scenario analysis desirable.
* A self-starter with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
