Position
We are looking for a strategic Senior Commercial Manager to play a crucial role in driving business growth and profitability to help develop and execute an impactful external and internal strategy to support the Group through this exciting time. The role is to work from the Slough office on a hybrid basis, twice a week.
Responsibilities and Duties
As a Contract and Commercial Specialist you will provide commercial insights, drive profitable growth, and support the organisation's long-term goals.
You will act as a key commercial interface across the operator businesses, handling commercial issues across Business-to-Business Relationships (Client and Suppliers) and Business to Consumer arrangements.
In this role you will:
* Be responsible for high level commercial support to our sales and account management teams, supporting the negotiation, of new and renewed commercial arrangements with clients to support the groups growth
* Develop relevant commercial products for bids/tenders to win new business in conjunction with the Bid Team
* Providing advice and guidance on legislation relevant to existing service provisions and new products.
* Identify the risks liability and commitments of contractual arrangements; ensure these are clearly understood and that the business fully appreciates any potential impacts. Drafting, editing and approving contract documents, managing deadlines relative to contract expirations and post contract evaluation.
* Develop and implement efficient and effective commercial procedures across the organisation.
* Identifying and implementing opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies across the business
* Responsible for the financial management of commercial projects
* Responsible for identifying and implementing opportunities to support the business deliver its environmental and social governance aspirations.
* Create, maintain, and enforce policies, procedures, and governance to manage commercial risk.
* Review and develop operational processes to improve performance and maximize growth.
Who you are
* Previous experience working within a similar commercial role is essential.
* Proven strategic commercial background in multi-disciplinary environments covering pre and post-contract activity client side and supply side is essential for the success of this role.
* Familiarity with Facilities Management, Software Services and/or parking is advantageous, but not essential.
* An understanding of the key differences between B2B and B2C contracts and how this influences product offerings to consumers
* Knowledge of different contract types, (Goods, Services, Software Licences, SaaS)
* Experience in developing and managing commercial processes and procedures.
* Ability to translate impact of terms and conditions on P&L and risk to delivery
* Experience of running multiple procurement projects in the private or public sector and advising on best practice.
* Good understanding of procurement processes and the relevant process, tools and training required to deliver them effectively.
* Strong strategic and negotiation skills to make sound commercial decisions with a proven trach record at a strategic level of leading negotiations.
* Strong computer literacy, including working knowledge of MS packages.

Other information about the role
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum dependant on experience
Hours: 40 per week; Monday - Friday 9am - 5.00pm
Location: Slough with hybrid flexibilities. Travel will be required to other office locations.
